One Yard Reversible Shirt Dress

Make #5

So here's the story behind this dress...

This fabric was one of my finds during my first fabric trip/visit to the FIDM Scholarship Store.  Of course, there was only one yard left (so I bring you another "one yarder " out of necessity).  This fabric was so pretty I couldn't leave it.  After pondering a bit on how to best use it, I came up with the reversible shirt dress pictured below.

So, what do you think of my one yarder?

Buttercream and Navy Leaves Dress

Make #4

I love this dress!

I really wanted a dress that was pleated at the waist.  Pleated dresses can have such a soft and feminine look.

To make this dress I used the same pattern I used to make the floral boatneck shirt I posted earlier with some modifications of course (like cutting the fabric shorter to create a higher waistline).  I also used a different pattern to get the measurements right for the pleating in the skirt (this was kind of a feat but it ultimately worked out).  I put it all together and Voila!

Hope you like (love) it as much as I do!

Blue Floral Bubble Hem Skirt

Make #3

I wanted to make a simple elastic waist skirt.  These skirts are pretty easy to make considering all you really need is the fabric and the elastic.  While trying on the skirt for fit, it kinda of naturally folded near the hem.  I thought the skirt might actually look nice with a bubble hem that was a little shorter in the front and a little longer in the back.  Check out the results below.

I love it!
