Boy it's been a while since I last posted, and oh how I've missed it.  My life seems to be in the biggest transition right now.  I miss the days when I had a bunch of clothes that I made in the queue and couldn't wait to share my latest creation with you all.  Because of all the changes that have taken place in the last year and half, namely learning and beginning a new career, it has been really hard sewing and posting regularly.

As I mentioned after my last hiatus, I started posting my work outfits in my journey to figure out and build a fun/fashionable business casual work wardrobe.  This aspect of my new career has been awesome and has involved a lot of bargain hunting/shopping.

Aside from designing and making clothes, I enjoy styling equally as much.  I have so many fun and (hopefully) inspirational outfits in my queue of ideas and would love to share them with you while I pick sewing back up.  I figure I can share these looks while I create a stock of sewn outfits to share with you all.  I hope you all enjoy my styling as much as my sewing.  I will also share some styling tips for easily working those work looks into fun and sexy evening looks.

Stay tuned for more stylings and sewings by yours truly.

Nothing balances out (or softens) bright neon colors like neutrals.  Neon colors, as fun as they can be, can come off a little harsh and even tacky.  However, when paired with the right neutral, it can create a elegance that can't be matched.

The blush nude color of the blazer and neon coral skirt pair nicely because of the pink undertone they share.  I think the secret to matching the right shade of neutral with the right shade of neon is to pay attention to undertone of the colors.  For instance, a neutral with a gray undertone works great with neon yellows while a more tan undertone pairs nicely with more orangey neons.

These are just a few tips to encourage you to try out neutrals and neons together but I really don't think you can go wrong with whichever shade of neutral that you decide to pair with whatever color of neon.
