Green and Ivory Floral Cape (Unofficial Bday Edition)

Make #9

I have being dying to get a cape for this season.  There are so many cute varieties and its such a fashionable why to layer up for the cold.  I figured before I go out and buy one, why not try making one.  I'm pretty pleased with the outcome and will probably create more varieties of it. So stay tuned.  I just love how it turned out!

Just to change it up a bit. My new cape worked great with my rust colored bag and leopard platforms.

P.S. This is sort of a birthday edition since a couple of my birthday (earlier this month) presents are featured (i.e. Mustard Aldo pumps, Green Coach clutch, and Rust Rebecca Minkoff handbag). Thanks to my hubby and my sisters for hooking me up! ;0)

Stripey Long Sleeve

Make #8

My first attempt at sewing something with long sleeves.  I'd say it went well, wouldn't you? The stripes definitely complicated the process but I am pretty happy with the results for a first go at it!

P.S. I tried it out with and without a belt and I think it works well either way.  Variety is must!

Quick and Easy: Elastic Waist Skirt

Make #7

One of the casualties of our move to Cali was my fabric collection (Tear). But on the bright side I have found some really great fabric here.  I made this skirt with the first piece of fabric I got while in Cali (gift from my lil' sis during her visit here).  This skirt is a quick and easy make requiring only fabric, thread, and elastic for the waistband.

Teal, Navy, & White Maxi Dress

Make #6

I had a hard time figuring out what to make with this fabric and once I made it into a maxi dress, I had an even harder time figuring out how to wear it.  This was especially complicated by the fact that summer was essentially over.  So I tried a couple of things and was pretty pleased.  I will likely create a more summery look with this dress once summer rolls around again, so keep an eye out!

While trying to figure out ways to rock this dress, I decided to throw a dress shirt over it.  I also added a belt and decided that this dress looks great as a faux long skirt. What do you think?
