Sew Stylings Sundays Poll

Slight Modification or Not?

I've been wanting a hi-lo hem skirt for a while. However, the asymmetrical hem trend is really growing on me.

This skirt was another hasty purchase but I'm a sucker for hi-lo hems, bird prints, and navy blue.  When I finally tried it on, I wasn't sure how I felt about it. I think I expected the hi-lo to be a little more dramatic and a little less short.

I played around with it and discovered that it looks pretty good worn as an asymmetrical hem skirt.
What are your thoughts? Take the poll below and elaborate in the comments section. ;)

Shoe Find

Joia Pulse Lime Green Wedges
Pulse Suede Wedges
Image via www.tobi.com

Whenever I rock these wedges, they get a whole lot of love from you all, my lovely readers.  A couple of you ladies have even asked where I got them so that you can snag a pair too.  However, much to my dismay, they were sold out on the website I bought them from.  But, because I love you all so much I have been diligently searching for another place that has them in stock (or at least has a good alternative to these lovelies).

Guess what? You'll never believe what I came across while browsing this web store, Tobi, I just discovered.  They have them in stock! In addition to the color above, they also carry them in hot pink, blue, and black.  I was so excited that I had to share it with you all in a post. So hurry and get them here while you can. ;)

FYI- They fit a little small so I would recommend going 1/2 a size up for more comfort.  Also, if you live in LA, particularly in the San Fernando Valley, you can buy them at the Northridge Mall. ;)

P.S. If you ge them, I'm dying to see how you rock them. So do share. ;)

To Modify or Not to Modify?

That is the question I ask myself when I buy something I like that is not quite what I was expecting. For this week's Sew Stylings Poll, I want your thoughts on my decision to modify this dress into a skirt instead. I tried it out as a skirt and loved it! However, I would love to hear your thoughts on which you prefer.

I had such a hard time styling this sweater when I finished it.  I managed to get it together and share it with you all, but I have been dying to give it another go.  With a couple of new accessories, I finally got to give it another whirl.  So, for this Sunday's poll I thought I'd share two alternative ways to rock this sweater.  I would love to hear which one you like the best.

One look I wore to church and another I thought up as I was changing out of my church look.
So what do you think?  One of the new options or the original?

#3: The Original

Cast your vote below for the look you'd like to see more of if I could do it all over again. Or let me know if the original does it for you.  Do explain your choice in the comments below. ;) I look forward to reading your thoughts!

Sew Stylings Sundays Poll

I am making this dress that I was sure was going to have a cowl neck.  However, in the process of trying to get it right, I happened upon what it might look like as a one shoulder dress instead.  It actually was pretty cute.  I simulated a cowl neck again and loved it equally the same as the one shoulder option.  I don't know what to do.

What do you think? One Shoulder or Cowl Neck? Do share your opinions about your preference in the comments section below.

When the poll is over, I'll make the dress into the style with the most votes. Can't wait to see how it turns out!

Based on the options above, which dress should I make?

Last Week's Poll Results
Option #2: Gray & Feathers (8-5)

For last week's poll, you all decided that a little contrast was the way to go.  By a somewhat slim majority, you all voted that Gray & Feathers was the way to rock this reversible shirt dress.  I still can't decide and will probably let the way I feel when I put it on decide which side wins for the day.  It never hurts to have some variety, so I definitely can't complain.

P.S. You ladies are so awesome for sharing your opinions. They are greatly appreciated so keep 'em coming! ;)

Sew Stylings Sundays Poll

This dress is great because you can wear it 2 ways.  But as great as having options can be, it's a little hard deciding which to rock as the front.  Ohh it's so tough since both sides are pretty cute!

Out of curiosity which side would you prefer to rock?

Make #5-Reversible Shirt Dress: Which side is cuter? Vote below.
Last Week's Poll Results
Option #1: Green & Yellow Accessories (13-2)

(Option #1: Styled here with Aldo Mease Mustard Pumps similar here and Coach Darcy Green Clutch last seen here)

Last week's poll was pretty fun.  One set of accessories really set this outfit off based on your votes.  By a clear landslide, 13-2 to be exact, you all decided that green and yellow accessories is the way to go.  I totally agree but would def rock the hell out of each one! ;)

P.S. Thanks to everyone that voted and commented. I really enjoy hearing what you all think! You all are so awesome! :)

Baby Girl Booties

Make #14

Ok, so my latest creation was not motivated by my desire to build on my wardrobe. This time I decided to help a cute and new little somebody create hers.  ;)

My hubby's first goddaughter was born about a week ago and I wanted to hook her up with something special.  Shoes are a must have in any girl's wardrobe and I wanted to give her a proper start.

I bought a pattern for these little booties a while ago and I decided to give it a go for this special little girly. Nothing like a pair of handmade shoes to set a girl apart!

So here goes it...

Stylish or what? I definitely think she will be leading the pack in the baby fashion circles. ;0)
