Modified Tiered Skirt (SSS Poll Winner)
Sometimes the perfect piece is a simple modification away.
Poll Results: The Numbers
Option #1: Dress (5 votes)
Option #2: Tiered Skirt (13 votes)
For the last Sew Stylings Sundays Poll, I wanted your opinions on my decision to modify a tiered dress into a tiered skirt. The majority of you agreed with my decision to modify this dress into a skirt. Yay!
I finally made the change permanent and I'm loving it! I love, love this skirt! Where the dress had me doubting my hasty purchase, the skirt makes it all well again. Satisfaction with my purchase was a snip, tuck, and elastic waist away!
As a skirt, the styling potential of this piece has shot up through the roof. The possibilities are now endless. In this case, my styling was influenced by the weather which dropped considerably in LA (considering it was raining like crazy yesterday), so I had to dress appropriately (hence the coat and tights).
What do you think of the results and how I styled this look? Do share (in the comments below). ;)
I LOVE the skirt & the yellow accents are the perfect touch!

Thanks Adrienne. It is a fun color combo isn't it! I guess some good did come out of all of that rain. The cold weather that followed the rain definitely served as the motivation for this look.

Thanks for the comment and the follow Mary. ;)
DeleteThanks so much for visiting Rejina! You have a very fun blog! As for the left over flounce at the bottom of that skirt, the fabric is just sitting with the rest of my scrap fabric right now. I agree, a peplum would be super cute! You're more than welcome to the fabric if you want it. ;-)
ReplyDeleteNo problem at all Mary Ann. Thanks for the visit and the comment also. I may have to take you up on the flounce offer. ;) I would totally feature what I make out of it, so you can check it out. ;)
DeleteLove this outfit and the colors you put together! Great job!! You are gorgeous.

DeleteI love the yellow scheme of this outfit! Yellow and navy always look really great together.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all your nice comments! I really wouldn't consider myself a DIY blogger because I'm usually way too lazy to do anything, haha. But I'm flattered that you would honor me with that title. Wish I had more drive and great ideas like you.
Cindy
